ABOUT

Carlos Freitas has a 2 decade career in mastering.  He was awarded “Best Professional Mastering 2000,2002 and 2010” and “ LATIN GRAMMY” nominations in that category  “Best Engineered  Album” 2006, 2009 (2) and 2010.

At 20 years old, began working as a recording engineer in the studios of Radio Transamerica in Sao Paulo, at the time one of the best equipped and applied studies in Brazil, where he had the opportunity to record and mix albums important Brazilian artists such as RPM, Roberto Carlos e Caetano Veloso.

In 1990, mounted in collaboration with Roberto Marques, the first mobile recording unit in Brazil, making live recordings of artists such as Caetano Veloso, Marisa Monte, João Gilberto and Tom Jobim, as well as major international stars as the rock group Bon Jovi, Seal, Alice in Chains, Guns and Roses, Simply Red and the pop singer George Michael.

In 1993, mixed live concerts of the Philharmonic Orchestra of New York, Israel, Ukraine, St. Petersburg and the city of São Paulo, alongside renowned international masters such as Zubin Mehta, Kurt Masur and the Eleazar de Carvalho and Brazilian Diogo Pacheco.

In 1994, after 10 years of experience in recording studios, Carlos came to the world of mastering at “ Cia de Audio Mastering”. In 2000, with the opening of their new Mastering Suite, Classic Master, mastered CDs of artists like Ed Motta, Carlinhos Brown, Marisa Monte, Jota Quest, Paralamas do Sucesso, Omara Portuendo, Manuel Galban, Max de Castro, Roberto Carlos, Djavan, Céu, Ivete Sangalo, Lenine and Zelia Duncan. In 2002 and 2010, Classic Master is awarded “Studio of the Year – Mastering 2001 and 2010”, and opens its DVD mastering studio in 5.1.

Carlos Freitas continues to work with the most prominent and important Brazilian artists, always using technology and sensitivity, with the sole purpose of evidencing the musical creativity of artists.
