ABOUT

Andrés Mayo is the owner of Andrés Mayo Mastering in Buenos Aires, Argentina. His professional experience includes the following facilities:

1991 – Unique Recordings (New York) – Assistant Recording and Mixing Engineer
1992 – Panda Studios (Buenos Aires) – Recording, Mixing and Mastering Engineer
1993 – dB Post (London) – Assistant Engineer, Audio Post-Production for Film
1994 – Bauer TonStudios (Ludwigsburg, Germany) – Mastering Engineer
1995 through 2005 – Mr. Master (Buenos Aires) – Co-founder and Mastering Engineer.
2006 to date – Andrés Mayo Mastering (Buenos Aires) – Founder and Mastering Engineer

Mr. Mayo is responsible for the sound of more than 1500 musical projects to date, by many of the best known artists in Latin America and other parts of the world including: Seal, Steve Hunter, Charly Garcia, Pedro Aznar, Les Luthiers, Luis Alberto Spinetta, Fito Paez, Hector Infanzón, Miguel Mateos and many others. He has been responsible for the release of more than 100 musical titles on DVD, Blu Ray and Interactive CDs.

He received 2 Latin Grammy Awards as a producer for his 7-DVD Collection “Buenos Aires, Days and Nights of Tango”, distributed worldwide since 2007. This production won in the categories of Best Tango Production and Best Recording Packaging.

Andrés also received 5 Gardel Awards for Best Sound Engineering in 2005, 2006, 2008, 2009 and 2011 for his work with worldwide renowned musician and producer Pedro Aznar He was also nominated for the same award in 2007 and 2010.

Founder of the vinyl-exclusive record label Cool Du Monde, Mr. Mayo is committed to release top quality new music in such format only.

From 2005 through 2009, Andrés served as Vice President of the Audio Engineering Society (AES) for the Latin American region. He is currently Chairman of the President´s Advisory Group and also Vice Chairman of the TC-ARMS (Technical Committee for Audio Recording and Mastering Systems).
